Painting is my “Passion”. It’s my passion for an art, that is constantly helping me in attaining in-depth knowledge of artistic creation. With my husband Nikhilendu Bhattacharjee support ,I am working as full time professional artist.
Art is not something you can teach, it’s instinctive. The techniques or mechanics can be taught but you can’t teach emotion or talent or extra spark that makes differences in great artist.
All art has to have its two essential elements: fusion of composition & feelings, unless composition & feelings are fused, an artist wouldn’t stand out. If an artist can feel for his creation, his creativity can easily activate the senses.
I have always had an interest in art. In my childhood year, the art which I did – art projects, animal cartoons, creating greeting cards. It was a hobby but today I am seriously involved in contributing my time in pursuing art as a career.
During initial stage of learning art, I have had devoted lot of time in absorbing technique of drawing / sketching. Being a Nature & Wildlife Artist, it is necessary to bring subject as well as surrounding in its most natural form, so drawing plays a vital role in art creation. Drawing is the basis of all painting; an imbalance drawing might spoil the whole creation.
As a beginner I choose water color as medium for my color-study. I realized that I am gifted with good color sense, so it wasn’t difficult for me to absorb color- theory. Continuing working with water color medium for 1-2 years, I was not satisfied with the outcome of my creativity. I couldn’t absorb the technique of water color medium. As I was more interested in in-depth detail, so I switched to oils & found oils worked best for me, even it enable me to capture depth, temperature, wind etc.
